TWO suspected Real IRA dissidents have been arrested for allegedly arranging to smuggle arms into Northern Ireland.
Anti-terrorist officers swooped on the men, aged 38 and 59, in the Algarve, Portugal. A Portuguese man was also held.
A haul of ammunition and 10 guns were seized in the raids.
A Portuguese police spokesman said: “We suspect they formed a criminal organisation dedicated to trafficking.”
